Sino-Dutch Design Center for Social and Cultural Computing

SDDCactivitySDDC is located in Jiangsu, China,  based on the design expertise of SDM-JU and TU/e DESIS Lab, focusing on international research, education and industry in the areas of interactive digital public arts, experiential design landscapes, intelligent lighting, and social and cultural computing, aiming at a knowledge network and an innovation incubator.

  1. Research

SDDC focus on experiential, empirical and design research around the topics of interactive digital public arts, experiential design landscapes,  intelligent lighting, and social and cultural computing, by cooperating research activities such as projects, workshops, symposiums and conferences.

  1. Education

SDDCworkshopSDDC is an important platform for the educational cooperation between TU/e DESIS Lab and SDM-JU, providing series courses and symposiums, as well as internships and cooperative workshops for the students from both TU/e DESIS Lab and SDM-JU,  working on research and development projects that are close to the local digital media industry.

  1. Industrial

The local industry and government provide support for lab infrastructure and connection to industrial projects and promote the valorization of the results from the research and education in the local industrial context. Base on the cooperation, SDDC aims at an institution of entrepreneurial talents.
