International SmartHealth Lab

ISL was established on 2016, funded by industrial partners, based on the expertise in the field of Industrial Design, Social Computing, Internet of Things, and Artificial Intelligence from the Department of Industrial Design, Eindhoven University, focusing on international research and industry in the areas of online medical services, patient engagement, social support, medical internet of things, and intelligent healthcare, aiming at a knowledge network and an innovation incubator.  ISL endeavors to strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of healthcare practices through research in social computing, big data, internet of things and design innovation; furthermore, ISL seeks to promote growth of the field’s knowledge network through projects, workshops, symposiums, and conferences. ISL aims to synthesize and apply research results to improve current hospital practices and patient engagement, with the goal of creating a more efficient and human-centered healthcare systems that better serve hospitals and patients. The research team consists of professors, PhDs and Post-Docs with the backgrounds of Industrial Design, Electric Engineering, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering.
